Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) was established over 23 years ago and is dedicated to advancing the growth of the information technology (IT) industry and those working within it.
With more than 20,000 members in 102 countries, CompTIA is the leading global IT trade association with influence in all areas of the IT industry worldwide. CompTIA is headquartered in Chicago, and also has offices in Amsterdam, Beijing, Brussels, Dubai, Düsseldorf, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto and Washington, D.C.
Information technology has become a significant presence in all areas of business today and CompTIA's membership reflects that breadth. Members include manufacturers, distributors, resellers, solution providers, ISPs, ASPs, software developers, e-commerce and telecom companies. As a result of CompTIA's involvement in IT education, training and public policy many academic, not-for-profit and government agencies have also joined the association. CompTIA offers all of its members access to industry research, networking and partnering opportunities, best practices and developed standards.
CompTIA represents the international technology community. Its goal is to provide a unified voice, global advocacy and leadership, and to advance industry growth through standards, professional competence, education and business solutions. In order to most efficiently serve the industry and its members, CompTIA has developed specialized initiatives and programs dedicated to major areas within the IT industry. They include, convergence technology, e-commerce, IT training, software services, certification, public policy and workforce development.
